Like all quality ceramic-coated materials, enamelware can chip if dropped or handled too roughly—but don’t worry. The durable steel core won’t break, and any chips are only surface-deep. These little “beauty marks” won’t affect performance or safety; there’s no risk of lead or other harmful materials leaching out.

Some people love the vintage charm of a well-loved piece (in fact, some brands even add chips on purpose!), while others prefer their enamelware looking brand new. Either way, your enamelware is ready for action. Just remember to lightly coat it with cooking oil to help prevent rust.
